Wannamaker Drug is committed to keeping our patients and the community well this flu season. Beginning in early September, Wannamaker Drug will be giving flu shots daily at both of its locations. We will also be offering monthly flu shot clinics throughout flu season.
Flu shots are $29 and can be given to anyone 18 years or older. There is no co-pay for Medicare Part B participants. September flu shot clinics are scheduled as follows: September 20th and 27th from 10am – 2pm at our Cheraw Store and September 29th from 10am-2pm at our Chesterfield Store.
The single best way to prevent the flu is to get the flu shot every year. Yearly flu vaccination should begin in September or as soon as vaccine is available. The shot will last through the entire season. Even healthy people can get the flu, and it can be serious so this flu season, protect you and your family by getting the flu vaccine. Remember, the flu ends with “U”!

Description: The Northeastern Rural Health Network along with Wannamaker Drug (Chesterfield) will be providing FREE health screenings for the community! Screening will consist of the following: Body Mass Index (BMI), Blood Pressure, Blood Glucose (Sugar), Total Cholesterol, and Health Risk Assessment. For accurate results, please do not eat or drink anything other than water for eight hours prior to the screenings.

Day-to-day management of diabetes can be confusing and overwhelming. At the upcoming Diabetes Self Management clinic at Wannamaker Drug, you can find answers to your questions. Two different classes will be offered. A beginner class will be held on Saturday, March 26th from 10am -2pm and an advanced class will be offered on Friday, March 25th from 5-7pm. Both classes will be held at Wannamaker Drug’s Cheraw store located at 154 Market Street.
Registered Dietician, Amy Bridges, will cover a variety of topics including an overview of diabetes, diet and nutrition education, effective disease management, and steps for controlling diabetes. Participants will also be given the chance to ask the dietician questions. Light refreshments specifically prepared for diabetics will be served.
This clinic is free and open to the community. Space is limited so anyone interested, please contact Lisa or Haley at 843.537.6188 to reserve a spot.

Every year Wannamaker Drug honors and remembers victims of cancer by planting a tree as a living tribute to those individuals who have faced the disease.
This year two trees were planted to honor the people from both the Cheraw and Chesterfield stores.
In Cheraw, a crape myrtle was planted at the Chesterfield Convalescent Center in honor of Darlene Lovelace and in memory of her husband Randall. Darlene works at the Chesterfield Convalescent Center and is a cancer survivor. She recently celebrated her one year anniversary of being cancer free. The tree is also in memory of her husband who lost his battle with the disease.
Lovelace reflects on her experience saying, “those of us who are survivors should be grateful and not lose sight of the many that were less fortunate in their fight with cancer.”
Wannamaker Drug also planted a Cherry tree in Ruby at the home of Lois Ann Jordan in memory of her husband, Ronnie, who passed away from cancer in 2010.
Wannamaker Drug places an artificial tree in their store window every October that is decorated with the names of cancer victims and survivors. This year over 250 names were placed on the tree. Every year a tree is planted in honor and memory of those individuals.

Wannamaker Drug will host two Flu Shot Clinics this year. Flu shots will be $30. There is no co-pay for Medicare Part B participants.
The first clinic will be on October 19th at our Chesterfield store located at 107 West Boulevard in Chesterfield. The clinic will be from 10am - 2pm. Our second clinic will be on November 4th at our Cheraw store located at 154 Market Street in Cheraw. This clinic will also be from 10am - 2pm.

Title: CPAP/BiPAP Clinic
Location: 154 Market Street - Cheraw, SC
Description: Wannamaker Drug will host an informative clinic on CPAP/BiPAP machines. Free educational material will be distributed and our Respiratory Therapist and medical staff will be on site to answer any questions. Attendees can view a variety of masks, learn the features of each one, and purchase new masks if needed. This is a great time to receive others supplies such as filters and tubing. A prescription is needed to receive supplies. Attendees are also encouraged to bring in their machines to be checked.
